A new article with T. M. Spoelma, K. M. Mai, and Y. Jiang was recently accepted for publication in the Journal of Applied Psychology. Across six weeks of data from 164 hybrid teams, we find that decreases in face-to-face work can undermine team engagement and performance, particularly when team members lack predictability about where their colleagues will be working. The findings highlight location predictability as an important factor in helping teams navigate shifts in hybrid work.
